FitBit Ultra

This is a pedometer on steroids! It’s tiny, as big as a bluetooth device. It tracks your fitness metrics AND your sleep patterns! My sister had heard the hype and gave it to me as a motivational present – best present ever. Completely worth the steep $99.95 price tag (even better since it was HER 100 bucks).

I’m going to try and and be as organized as possible to sum up it’s best features. As with all my posts, clicking on the picture takes you to the website, where you can learn much more in detail.

You clip it on to your jeans or the inside of your shirt, and you’re all set. It will track the number of steps you’ve taken, the number of miles you’ve traveled, the calories you’ve burned, the number of steps you’ve climbed, all available to you at anytime with the press of a button.

Sleep: At night, you put on the wristband it comes with and it tracks your sleep patterns and sleep efficiency – how well you sleep during the night, the motion sensor determines how many times you wake up during your sleep, and how long you actually slept. All this data is stored with an accurate time line on the website or the app. Last night I woke up at 3.02 am and fidgeted for a bit and only got a total sleep of 5 hours 47 minutes. On average my sleep efficiency is at about 93%.

Web/ App: So, once you set up Fitbit on your computer, you can leave the tiny docking station attached to your computer and as soon as you enter the house, it will automatically sync via bluetooth once you’re within 25 feet of your computer, and upload all your tracked data on to your online fitbit account! cool eh?

Food Tracker: you can enter in all the food you’re eating and it will calculate the no of calories you’ve consumed vs how much you’re burning throughout the day. It has a very comprehensive food database to be able to enter in what you eat.

Log and monitor all activities

Track your weight. You can enter fitness goals, weight loss goals and it will track how you’re doing and display motivational messages on your device!

WiFi Weighing Scale: For a little more dough ($129.95), you can buy the Fitbit Aria WIFI Weighing Scale to measure your weight, BMI, and fat % and it will wirelessly send the data to your fitbit account!

Okay, this post is officially too long and gushing. Just try it for yourself!

Welcome to the future of hair… well almost. CHI recently released a new hair dryer that requires no buttons to function. Instead, it has a touch screen that allows you to regulate the power, heat, and ions based on your hair type – Fine, Medium, Course. It cuts down on drying time, is lightweight, and is supposedly extremely quiet. It’s customizable ION settings help eliminate frizz, reduce static and rehydrates hair, according to CHI.

  • 1875 watts – CHI’s Most Powerful dryer yet = 50% less drying time
  • Lightweight ergonomic design weighs 40% less
  • New Soft Touch Rubber finish makes for the ultimate in styling comfort and non slip grip
  • Superior DC motor quietest CHI dryer ever
  • CHI Ceramic Heater and CHI Infrared Technology reduces static, eliminates frizz and rehydrates dry, damaged hair
  • Unique Memory Setting remembers the last setting
  • Touch Screen has 4 screens that give you a multitude of options for various types of hair. Home Screen; temperature, speed, & ions selection

I think it sounds like a great product and is definitely worth a try. The only thing I see that could go wrong is for someone that likes to frequently change settings in between their blow-dry. I would imagine it would be quite annoying to set it down and keep changing the options –  but worth a try.

I would personally use it with a ceramic round hair brush. The ceramic part of the brush heats up from the heat of the hair dryer and gets your hair straight and dry quicker. It also helps you play around with rounded ends, and curls without using a curling iron. I use Prego Spornette – clicking on the picture of the hairbrush takes you to the link from where I bought mine.

iBamboo Speaker: now I feel iZen

Do you love the look and feel of eco-friendly, natural products? I do. Makes me feel like I’m at a spa.

De-wire and de-clutter your desk and make room for this ibamboo speaker crafted by an Etsy seller out of a single piece of bamboo. It’s made for the iphone 4/4S and you just slot your phone into it, and the music fills the room naturally as the natural resonance of the bamboo amplies the sound. This even makes for a great gift.

Each one is unique and is a 100% eco-friendly and uses no electricity and no wires! What a great idea!

Dropbox is a simple cloud storage file synchronization tool. With dropbox you’ll have access to your files anywhere.

How it works: You download the program for free from the website, and it installs a dropbox folder right on your computer. Everything you save on it is automatically updated in the cloud storage and you can access it online from your account wherever you are.

You can save files on it and separate into folders for easy organization. The best part is that it works like any other folder. You can attach files to emails just like as if it was saved on your desktop.

The best feature is probably sharing. You can allow your friends access to your dropbox folder – so you don’t have to upload all your pictures to Facebook and have the whole world see them. You can just upload to a dropbox folder and give your group of friends access to the folder.

It’s extremely easy to operate and navigate and even works on mobile devices and tablets.

Pricing: First, there’s Dropbox Basic, which gives you 2GB of storage at no cost. Second, if you need more space, you can pay $9.95 per month for 50GB or $19.99 per month for 100GB for Dropbox Pro 50 and Dropbox Pro 100, respectively.

Oh and for every friend you refer, you even get a bit of extra free space which can add up quickly! Its a superb service that I highly recommend.

Click Here to get started with DropBox and you’ll get an additional 500 MB of cloud space FREE
