FitBit Ultra

This is a pedometer on steroids! It’s tiny, as big as a bluetooth device. It tracks your fitness metrics AND your sleep patterns! My sister had heard the hype and gave it to me as a motivational present – best present ever. Completely worth the steep $99.95 price tag (even better since it was HER 100 bucks).

I’m going to try and and be as organized as possible to sum up it’s best features. As with all my posts, clicking on the picture takes you to the website, where you can learn much more in detail.

You clip it on to your jeans or the inside of your shirt, and you’re all set. It will track the number of steps you’ve taken, the number of miles you’ve traveled, the calories you’ve burned, the number of steps you’ve climbed, all available to you at anytime with the press of a button.

Sleep: At night, you put on the wristband it comes with and it tracks your sleep patterns and sleep efficiency – how well you sleep during the night, the motion sensor determines how many times you wake up during your sleep, and how long you actually slept. All this data is stored with an accurate time line on the website or the app. Last night I woke up at 3.02 am and fidgeted for a bit and only got a total sleep of 5 hours 47 minutes. On average my sleep efficiency is at about 93%.

Web/ App: So, once you set up Fitbit on your computer, you can leave the tiny docking station attached to your computer and as soon as you enter the house, it will automatically sync via bluetooth once you’re within 25 feet of your computer, and upload all your tracked data on to your online fitbit account! cool eh?

Food Tracker: you can enter in all the food you’re eating and it will calculate the no of calories you’ve consumed vs how much you’re burning throughout the day. It has a very comprehensive food database to be able to enter in what you eat.

Log and monitor all activities

Track your weight. You can enter fitness goals, weight loss goals and it will track how you’re doing and display motivational messages on your device!

WiFi Weighing Scale: For a little more dough ($129.95), you can buy the Fitbit Aria WIFI Weighing Scale to measure your weight, BMI, and fat % and it will wirelessly send the data to your fitbit account!

Okay, this post is officially too long and gushing. Just try it for yourself!

“Every step you take, every move you make, I’ll be watching you.”

Recharge Battery On-The-Go

Stitchway UltraPower portable backup iPhone battery charger:

I bought this on for a mere $6 (click on picture above to take you to the product page).

How it works: It’s this compact little square gadget that is probably smaller than the palm of your hand that offers you the option of a wire-free recharge for your phone, or iPod on the go. I’m always on my phone, checking Facebook, using foursquare, playing temple run, or texting, so half way through the day my battery levels are quite meek – which sucks if I’m out of the office or not at home.

This is a life saver. You have to charge it in advance using your regular phone/ipod charger, and just slip it in your bag or your pocket. Whenever you need it later, you connect it to your phone and it’ll charge it up – No wires, no fuss. It can charge my iphone right in my handbag as I go about my day.

I measured the time it takes to charge. On my phone, from DEAD to 79% it took about 2 hours. A must have.
